I can’t believe I am just finding out about this now! After adding Swarovski Crystals to my eyelashes, I thought I was on to something. Well apparently the boat passed back in 2008! haha….oh well….but check these out!
Designed by Anthony Mallier, the contact lenses were created for the Crystal Vision competition sponsored by designboom and Swarovski. Tiny crystals were fused around the edge of a contact lense to create the look.
The Sparkle contact lenses are the second place winner in the Crystal Vision competition co-organized by designboom and Swarovski. Mallier took the Crystal Vision theme literally when he designed the crystal eye bling. The competition had 4074 entries from 92 countries.
“Swarovski has been synonymous with adding that extra sparkle to everyday life,” Mallier said. “Swarovski crystals have the power to transform the ordinary into something extraordinary through their sheer brilliance. Sparkle is one such attempt to enhance the expression of one of our most expressive features: our eyes.”
No one has mentioned if the lenses are at all painful or uncomfortable for the wearer, and no word on the retail availability as of yet, but geez where have I been! You know I would probably wear these lol. I do wear contacts on a regular basis and have for many years. So putting these babies in would be no problem. However, a long time ago I did try colored contacts and could barely see out of them. If that is the case with these, I will be very dissapointed!
